It is generally known that coronavirus infection (Covid-19) is especially dangerous for the human respiratory system and leads to changes in lung tissues that persist even after the end of the disease.

Doctors note that one of the effective methods for correcting the state of the affected lung tissues in the initial stage is a complex of breathing exercises that trains lung tissue, muscles, nerve endings, that is, the entire respiratory system in a complex.

The pneumatic trainer, capable of collecting respiratory statistics and analyzing the patient's condition, was developed by Biofizsignal LLC under the leadership of Sergei Sinyutin, Ph.D.

“The pneumatic trainer is a portable device consisting of a tube in which there is a special sensor for recording the speed of air movement, saturation with carbon dioxide, air temperature and some other parameters”, — said Sergei Sinyutin.

A person breathes into a tube, the air flow enters a sensor connected to a microcontroller, which processes and transmits data over a radio channel to an android device. The application in the android device displays this data in the form of a certain training and game picture.

“For example, you need to inflate a balloon of a certain size in a certain time. As a real balloon, it has resistance, and in order to inflate it, you need to make an effort. Thus, the training of the respiratory system takes place. Another example of a training and game picture: blow off the petals of a flower with a sharp exhalation”, — noted Sergei Sinyutin.

By changing the parameters of the processes, it is possible to complicate the task over time and thereby achieve the desired therapeutic effect. The pneumatic trainer not only forms a game situation, but also measures the real parameters of the human respiratory system, due to which the safety of the technique is achieved. Thus, if a person tries to complete a task with extraordinary efforts, the device will notice this and stop the process.
